Provena Foods, US producer of pepperoni and pasta packaged food processors, has reported that it incurred a net loss of US$451,881 on sales of $59.15 m in 2005. This compares with a net loss of $1.22m on sales of $51.8m the previous year.

The reduction in net losses, the company said, was the result of the meat division improving from an operating loss to a small operating profit in 2005, while the pasta division reduced its operating losses from 2004 to 2005. Both divisions contributed to the increase in sales.
