Publix has indicated its intention to expand its presence in the natural, organic and health food sector through the launch of speciality stores that will debut in various locations throughout Florida.
Having identified the potential of the health, natural and organic market, the US supermarket chain has said it will initially open four Public GreenWise Markets. The company has received permission to open GreenWise Markets in Vero Beach, Florida and Tampa, Florida. Work is already underway to open GreenWise outlets in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Boca Raton, Florida.
“At Publix, we’re committed to serving the changing lifestyle and nutritional needs of our customers,” said Maria Brous, Publix director of media and community relations. “We have seen exceptional growth in the health, natural and organic food areas of our traditional stores. Publix GreenWise Markets will allow for an environment focused on natural foods as well as provide a venue with an emphasis on prepared foods.”
The first Publix GreenWise Market is expected to open later this year in Palm Beach Gardens.
