Frozen food packer Request Foods has opened a new facility which could create up to 250 jobs.

The company announced last week that the 230,000 sq. ft. facility, located next to its main plant in Greenly Street, Holland, Michigan, has started co-packing skillet meal bags and is set to expand, creating more jobs.

“Our entry into skillet meals is a win/win situation for growers, employees and customers, and we’re grateful that Request Foods is able to play an important role in our industry and community,” vice president Steve Dewitt said.

“We felt as a company in the frozen prepared meal business that we needed to be able to produce both frozen skillet meals in bags and frozen meals in dishes for our customers,” a spokesperon from the company added.

Found in 1990, Request Foods is a co-packer of national, club store and private brands, currently producing more than 400 different prepared food items which it sells to retailers, foodservice, club stores and restaurant chains. The company has two facilities in Holland, Michigan, US.
