US fresh and frozen prepared foods producer Reser’s Fine Foods is to close its Delphos facility in Ohio, affecting around 104 jobs.
A spokesperson for the company told just-food today (29 July) the closure is a result of cost-cutting measures. Its last day of manufacturing will be 13 September.
The facility, one of 12 the company operates in the US, produces refrigerated side dishes and salads. Once closed, production will be moved to its other facilities, the spokesperson said.
“This was a very difficult decision for our organisation to cease operations but we have available manufacturing capacity at our other locations,” the spokesperson said.
Staff will be able to apply for other job openings within the company, Reser’s said.
“We will share our current openings that we have at our other manufacturing sites with employees and any interested in those jobs we will talk with them and they can apply for those. We will also give them information on local employment.”
Reser’s employs around 2,800 staff across its operations.
