US food retailer Safeway has seen its top marketing executive quit the company.
Brian Cornell, Safeway’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, will leave the retailer on 1 June.
Safeway said Cornell is looking to “actively pursue a search for the top leadership role at another company”.
Chairman, president and CEO Steve Burd said Cornell has “contributed significantly” to Safeway’s business during his three years with the company.
