US food and consumer goods group Sara Lee has named Shalabh Gupta as the company’s treasurer.

Gupta, who has been the company’s assistant treasurer for a number of years, will continue to report to Theo de Kool, Sara Lee’s chief financial and administrative officer.
“Shalabh has served as assistant treasurer for several years, and his expertise continues to be an asset to the organisation,” de Kool said. “We are pleased that he will be assuming the role of treasurer.”
Gupta joined Sara Lee in October 2004 as director, capital markets and pensions, and was promoted to the position of assistant treasurer in September 2005. Prior to joining Sara Lee, Gupta worked for Delphi Corporation and General Motors.
