Sartori Inspirations has acquired hummus-to-salsa maker Blue Moose.

Through the acquisition, Sartori said the Blue Moose line will join Ciolo and Piccolo as the third-largest brand of high quality, all natural dips and spreads in the US.

While the deal expands Sartori’s footprint in the category, the firm is up against some stiff competition in the sector. Notably, Sartori must contend with the formidable force of PepsiCo, which has become extremely active in dips and spreads through its joint venture with Sabra.
