US firm The Schwan Food Co. is cutting jobs in a reorganisation of its home service business.
Schwan said 22 jobs had been axed at its home service head office in Minnesota. Across the US, a further 184 positions were cut.
“The decision to reduce our workforce was difficult. It is a necessity to ensure the future strength of our home service business and its long-term competitiveness,” said Greg Flack, Schwan Food Co.’s interim leader.
“While we are eliminating some positions, we are also creating others that will help our company move in a direction that improves the focus and performance of this significant business,” Flack added.
Schwan said workers affected by the cuts will have the chance to apply for new positions.
