US retailer and distributor Spartan Stores has struck a deal making it the primary wholesale grocery supplier to Chief Super Market.

Chief operates 12 stores in north western and central western Ohio under the Chief and Rays banners.

As of March, Spartan will assume distribution for Chief’s grocery, dairy, frozen, bakery and other products.
