US seafood firm StarKist Co. has launched microwaveable fish fillets and seafood entrees into the country’s frozen aisles.

The fillets and entrees, sold under the SeaSations brand, moves StarKist beyond its flagship tuna products, according to director of marketing Jennifer Albert.

“StarKist is committed to providing consumers with delicious restaurant-inspired products that continue to deliver the same exceptional quality they have come to expect from the brand,” Albert said yesterday (24 March).

The company said the fillets come in four varieties – Savory Lemon & Herb, Sweet & Spicy, Teriyaki Orange & Ginger and Mediterranean Tomato & Basil – and are priced at around US$5.99.

The entrees come in ten varieties, including Lemon Dill Salmon and Orange Miso Tilapia, and will be sold at $3.99.

StarKist, owned by South Korea’s Dongwon Enterprise Co., earlier this month announced former Yum Brands International and Procter & Gamble executive In-Soo Cho as its new president and CEO
