US grocery retailer Stater Bros reported an increase in third-quarter net income as the company saw sales rise over the period.
The company said yesterday (9 August) that for the quarter ended 26 June, net income was up 18.3% to $7.1m, while sales rose 4.3% to $39m. Like-store sales were also up 4.3% over the period.
“We are pleased with our like-store-sales increase for the quarter and for the year,” said Stater Bros chairman president and CEO Jack Brown.
“Our customer count has increased approximately 1.4 million in fiscal 2011 compared to fiscal 2010 and is due to the loyalty of our customers, many of whose families we have served for over three generations.”
