US grocer Stop & Shop has pulled a range of soy sprouts from its shelves amid a possible listeria scare.

The company, owned by Dutch retail giant Ahold, said Chang Farm had issued a recall of its namesake soy sprouts due to possible contamination.

Stop & Shop said listeria could represent a “significant danger to public health”.

The retailer has asked customers not to eat the sprouts and return the products to the company for a full refund.
