In his new position, Nichols will oversee the management of the food group’s legal risks, including mergers and acquisitions, securities, contractual issues and corporate governance responsibilities.


Nichols, 54, began working for SYSCO in 1981 as general council. In 1991 he progressed to vice president of management development and human resources and in 1998 he was promoted to vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.
