US convenience and forecourt operator The Pantry has confirmed that it plans to continue to increase its focus on its fresh food offering as rising fuel costs threaten profit margins.

The company, which has already launched its Program Fresh in two markets, confirmed today (17 March) that it is planning a further roll out of the scheme.

“We will be introducing Program Fresh to further markets, details of which will be released at a later date,” a spokesperson for the group told just-food.

The Pantry initiated a store remodelling drive last year, which saw the group introuce additional fresh food offerings – including ready to go sandwiches, salads and snacks – to its outlets.
