Tyson Foods has promoted Dennis Leatherby to the role of CFO.

Leatherby will report directly to Tyson president and CEO Dick Bond and will oversee the company’s worldwide finance and accounting functions.

Leatherby has worked at Tyson for more than 18 years, most recently serving as senior vice president of finance and treasurer.

“Dennis has clearly demonstrated he has the skills and leadership abilities to handle this important position in the company,” Bond said. “We look forward to his involvement and input in a wide range of areas, from strategic planning and acquisitions to our relationship with banks and investors.”

Leatherby replaces Wade Miquelon, who left Tyson to become chief financial officer for Walgreens.
