Vita Food Products, the US fish-to-honey producer, has seen first-quarter profits slump by a quarter.
The company booked operating income of US$463,000 for the three months to 31 March, down from $629,000 a year earlier.
The drop in earnings came as net sales dipped slightly, reached $12.7m from $12.8m a year earlier.
Vita, headquartered in Chicago, makes herring and salmon products, as well as honey, salad dressings, barbecue sauces and salsas.
