US pharmacist Walgreens is planning to introduce a range of fresh foods and prepared meals to its stores.
The company will carry a range of branded and private label foods in a bid to cash in on the increasing demand for convenience from US consumers, according to a Blomberg report.
“Everyone is time starved and we have the most convenient 7,000 locations in the US. They’re on the way home destinations that are easy to get in and out of and will provide good value,” Bryan Pugh, VP of merchandising, said.
The company declined to comment further when contacted by just-food.
