A US company has launched what it claims to be the first fruit snack to be made with real fruit, real yoghurt and live and active probiotic cultures.
Promotion In Motion, which holds the licence to the Welch’s brand, has begun selling Welch’s Fruit ‘n Yogurt Snacks. The company said the products contain 100% of the daily value intake of vitamin C, and are an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin D and calcium.
“This is a huge opportunity to further enhance the value of the Welch’s Fruit Snack line to consumers,” said president and CEO Michael G. Rosenberg, adding that live and active probiotic bacterial cultures now rank among the “top five foods that people say they want to add to their diets”, along with whole grains, dietary fibre, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids.
Available in five flavours, strawberry, blueberry, cherry, raspberry, and peach, Welch’s Fruit ‘n Yogurt Snacks come in a variety of pack options, including a 4.8oz 6-pack and a 12oz 15-pack.
