Global neighbourhood store operator 7-Eleven has added sushi to the menu in its stores in southern California.
In an attempt to tap the potential of California’s alleged appetite for healthy treats and exotic flavours, 7-Eleven is offering sushi roll samplers alongside Mexican enchiladas, Szechuan beef bowls and pasta snacks. The snacks are all freshly made and delivered to the stores.
“We’re introducing sushi in southern California because it is a regional favourite. Southern Californians love sushi,” Chuck Kronyak, 7-Eleven’s regional fresh food merchandiser, is quoted in the Calgary Herald.
