The new products have been developed by the chain in partnership with Biochem (R) Sports and Fitness Systems, in a bid to cater for the burgeoning market in functional foods.
“This is a stepping stone to partner with nutritional companies and create more functional foods that meet our customers’ needs,” revealed Jeff Hamill, vice president of non-foods at 7-Eleven.
The bars, which contain an extra 5-10g of protein and a calorie count between 150-260, are available in three varieties: chocolate pieces, peanut butter cups and chocolate chews.
