US convenience store chain 7-Eleven has said its US same-store merchandise sales grew 4.0% for September.
Total September 2005 sales were US$1.24bn, an increase of 20.7% over September 2004 sales of $1.03bn. The sales increase for September was primarily due to a sharp rise in retail fuel prices, as well as a solid increase in merchandise sales.
Total merchandise sales for September 2005 were $715.8m, an increase of 5.5% over September 2004.
7-Eleven operates or franchises approximately 5,800 7-Eleven stores in the United States and Canada and licenses approximately 22,700 7-Eleven stores in 17 other countries and US territories throughout the world.
