US convenience store chain 7-Eleven has said its US same-store merchandise sales grew 4.0% for September.

Total September 2005 sales were US$1.24bn, an increase of 20.7% over September 2004 sales of $1.03bn. The sales increase for September was primarily due to a sharp rise in retail fuel prices, as well as a solid increase in merchandise sales.
