Archer Daniels Midland Company yesterday announced the restructuring of its Food and BioProducts Divisions to strengthen the Company’s global focus on its core food and feed operations, as well as its value-added functional foods and ingredients. With the new restructuring, each of the three operations — ADM Natural Health and Nutrition (value-added products), ADM Specialty Ingredients (food), and ADM BioProducts and Feed (feed) — will function as a distinct division with its own leadership. All these divisions will report to John Rice, Senior Vice President, Food and BioProducts Divisions.

“This new alignment will enable us to capitalize more effectively on the opportunities in each of these three important product areas,” said ADM President John McNamara. “Now, we have focused efforts in all three sectors, with strong leadership and well-aligned global strategies. We’ve brought the right people together with the right assets, and it’s going to make a difference in the way they operate and add value to our customers.”

Tony P. DeLio has been named President, ADM Natural Health and Nutrition, which includes the business units of nutraceuticals, functional foods and ingredients. Tony will be responsible for the management of the Company’s functional food products, ingredients and supplements such as Vitamins E and C, Novasoy® isoflavones, sterols and DAG oil. ADM Natural Health and Nutrition will also include former Protein Specialties branded products NutriSoy,® Soy 7(TM), Haldane Foods and analogue products.

Tony joined the Company in 1999 and has over twenty-two years experience in the consumer foods business and in the development and market placement of new products.

Tony, 45, received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in 1978. He is married and has two children.

Scott B. Fredericksen has been named President, ADM Specialty Ingredients, which includes the business units of proteins, specialty fats and emulsifiers and food additives. Scott will be responsible for the management of products such as soy protein concentrates and isolates, lecithins, citric acid, sorbitol, xanthan gum, dehydrated beans, pasta and hydroponics/aquaculture.

Kevin joined ADM in 1986 and has held positions with the Company in merchandising, sales, and plant management. Most recently, he served as Vice President, North American Soybean Division.

Kevin, 39, received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business in 1984 and a Master’s degree in business administration in 1985, both from Western Illinois University. He is married and has four children.
