US pasta company American Italian Pasta has posted a 13% rise in quarterly net income, helped by increased revenue due to a strong private-label performance, branded acquisitions and a new specialty business.
The company reported earnings of US$12.8m, or 69 cents a share, for the fourth quarter to 3 October, compared to $11.4m, or 61 cents a share, a year earlier.
The company said revenue rose 14% to $116.9m from $102.2m a year earlier.
American Italian Pasta said it expected full fiscal year 2004 revenue and income growth to be in the 6-14% range, compared to an earlier forecast of 8-12% growth, reported Dow Jones News Service.
