Food company B&G Foods has announced that it has acquired the Ortega food service dispensable pouch and dipping cup cheese sauce businesses from Nestle USA.

“This acquisition is exceptionally well suited to our business, as it builds upon the Ortega assets we originally acquired from Nestle in 2003, said CEO David L Wenner. “This brand has performed very well for us, and we are pleased to add the food service dispensable pouch and dipping cup cheese sauce businesses to our existing Ortega business. As we continue to execute our disciplined acquisition strategy, we remain focused on positioning B&G Foods for steady growth and consistent returns.”
The terms of the acquisition, which was funded from cash on hand, were not disclosed. B&G Foods expects to transition the acquired business to B&G Foods’ infrastructure within thirty days.
