Burger King Corporation yesterday announced the appointment of Fredrick (Rick) Dow to senior vice president, marketing programs & sales, effective October 22nd. He will report directly to Chris Clouser, executive vice president and chief global marketing officer. In this position, Dow’s main focus will be to develop and implement Burger King’s strategic marketing programs that will best serve the millions of BURGER KING® customers, drive and grow revenues, and build the BURGER KING® brand and market share. Reporting to Dow will be product marketing, advertising and promotions, consumer research, partnerships and alliances and field marketing and sales.
Dow joins Burger King Corporation from West Group, the world’s leading provider of e-information solutions to legal professionals, where he was most recently senior vice president, brand management and marketing programs. Dow was responsible for developing and leading the strategic marketing organization, including responsibility for the development of market-leading capabilities in the areas of market segmentation, database marketing, brand management, marketing analytics and loyalty programs for West Group.
Previous to his tenure at West Group, Dow was with Northwest Airlines in a variety of senior marketing positions with responsibilities that included global advertising and promotion, product marketing, loyalty programs, brand positioning, market research and alliance and event marketing. While at Northwest, Dow worked closely with Clouser and John Dasburg, chairman, president and CEO of Burger King Corporation.

Dow graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He has completed graduate programs in Executive Finance and Accounting at Fairfield University and Georgia State University.
Dow is a board member of the St. Paul Minnesota Chamber Orchestra, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Wilderness Inquiry.
