Campbell Soup Company today announced a series of executive appointments in its North America and Asia-Pacific operations.

Commenting on the appointments, David W. Johnson, President and CEO said, “North America is the world’s most affluent consumer marketplace. It is also the heartland of Campbell’s soup and sauce franchise. Recent results show that we must raise the bar in demanding strategy and innovation to increase market share and profitability. Accordingly, we have committed our most experienced soup and sauce marketing executives to this mission.

“In Australia, we have market leadership franchises for both Campbell’s soup and Arnott’s bakery brands. Linking our Asia-Pacific management to Australia will enable talented people to share and cross-fertilize ideas in a geography that is exploding with opportunity.”

His team comprises:
Andrew Hughson is promoted to President – U.S. Soup and Sauces from
President-Asia Pacific. Andrew will be responsible for all marketing and selling activities for soups and sauces in the U.S. As President of Campbell Canada from 1996 to 1998, Andrew was the driving force behind the “one more bowl” campaign that led to significant increases in consumer soup consumption. His challenge in the U.S. is to win consumers and to build market share along with profitability. The top team to do this is:

Jeremy Fingerman is promoted to Vice President – U.S. Soup. Jeremy
has spent the past 3 years in Australia. His most outstanding accomplishment (among many) was to lead Campbell to soup share leadership over Heinz. His new challenge is to bring the same winning excitement and innovation to U.S. Soup marketing. Jeremy will assume his new responsibilities later this month.

Bill Toler – President – Campbell Sales Company

Margo Lowry – Vice President – New Business Development

Paul Groundwater – Vice President – Sauces & Prepared Foods

Stan Applegate – Vice President – Finance – U.S. Soup & Sauces. Stan has spent the past 9 months working with Andrew as Vice President – Finance – Asia Pacific. He will now focus his efforts on helping ensure we meet our profit commitments in our most important business – U.S. Soup and Sauces.

Tim Callahan – President – Beverages and Latin America will report to Marty and now focus exclusively on our rapidly expanding Beverage business along with Mexico and export opportunities.

Lisa Zakrajsek is appointed Vice President – Marketing Services reporting to Marty. Lisa’s extensive experience in marketing will be invaluable for this assignment. Reporting to Lisa will be:
Bill Lunderman – Vice President – Global Design Center
Maria Puoti – Vice President – Global Advertising Services
Cindy Ayers – Vice President – Global Consumer Foods Communications
Nick Sorvillo – Vice President – Global Marketing Information
Mike Schwartz – Vice President – Consumer Insights & Promotions
Christine Hartmann – Business Development Director
Susan Baranowsky – Manager – Consumer Response Center

Continuing to report to Marty will be:

Anthony DiSilvestro – Vice President – Finance, Campbell North America
Cesar Penaherrera – Vice President – Supply Chain, Campbell North America
Brian Mirsky – President, Campbell Canada

Asia Pacific
John Doumani, currently Managing Director – Australasia/PNG, adds the additional title of President – Asia Pacific. This will create a profit center headquartered in Australia which combines the people power of Australia, New Zealand, Papua-New Guinea, Indonesia, South Asia and Greater China.

I am confident that John will provide a leadership climate to accelerate sharing and accomplishment in our dynamic Asian operations.

Other key organization changes will be:

Mark Alexander, currently Vice President – Marketing, Campbell Soup Canada, is promoted to Vice President – Marketing for Campbell Soup Australia and Regional Manager – Asia Soups and Sauces reporting to John Doumani. Mark led the U.S. Chunky marketing team to record market share before his promotion to Canada last year where he has continued his string of marketing successes. He will have the important Managing Directors for Greater China and South Asia reporting directly to him.

For an interim period, Andrew Hughson will continue to have management responsibility for Campbell Japan.

On behalf of all employees, I say to each of these executives “Congratulations.” Our future is definitely connected to their continued success and that’s exactly what we wish them!
