US pasta company Monterey Pasta has said its chief financial officer and executive vice president, Steve Brinkman, has resigned, effective 24 October.

The company said Brinkman, who is leaving to take up a position with a California school district, would continue to be available to Monterey Pasta for transition purposes, reported Dow Jones News.

Monterey Pasta said it had promoted corporate controller Scott Wheeler, who joined the company in April, to the position of chief financial officer, effective 27 October.

Brinkman joined the company in 1997, becoming CFO in March 2002.
