Advantica Restaurant Group, one of the largest restaurant companies in the US, has named Charles Moran as the interim chairman of its board while the company seeks a permanent replacement fpr Jim Adamson, whose planned retirement was effective from last Friday.

President and CEO of the group, Nelson J. Marchioli, praised Adamson for the work he has completed since becoming chairman in May 1995: “Jim has aptly steered the company through difficult times and provided strategic direction for the Denny’s brand.

“His unwavering commitment to making inclusiveness and diversity central to the everyday work ethic at Denny’s led the way for the company’s cultural transformation and created a model for diversity in corporate America.”

Advantica operates about 2,400 restaurants across the US, including the Denny’s, Coco’s and Carrows brands.
