Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown announced today that Steven Potter has joined the firm as a Managing Director and will head the Food and Beverage investment banking practice of the Global Consumer Group. Potter joins Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown from the Global Consumer Group of the Investment Banking division of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and Co. Potter will be based in New York and will report to Mark Goodman, Global Head of the Consumer Group.

Potter joins Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown after three years with Morgan Stanley where his primary focus was on strategic advisory/M&A assignments and debt and equity offerings for multinational food and beverage and consumer products companies. Prior to that he worked at JP Morgan and Company from 1991 to 1997 in mergers and acquisitions. He was also a financial analyst at Trammell Crow Ventures from 1988 to 1989.

Deutsche Bank’s Global Consumer Group has been working with premier branded food and beverage companies for over ten years including high profile assignments such as lead managing Starbucks‘ initial public offering in 1992 and, more recently, acting as sole bookrunning manager for Krispy Kreme Doughnut’s highly successful $73 million initial public offering.

Potter holds a BS in business management and finance/accounting from Brigham Young University and an MBA in finance and accounting from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
