US grocery distributor Fleming has announced that Mark Hansen, the company’s chairman and chief executive, has resigned effective immediately.
Hansen, who has held the position of chairman and CEO since 1998, will be succeeded by Peter Willmott as interim CEO and president. The company also announced Robert Allen is to take the position of acting chief operating officer.
Fleming has been hit recently by the effects of an accountancy probe and losing its biggest customer Kmart.
