US packaged bakery foods producer Flowers Foods has raised its sales guidance for fiscal 2004 after announcing 5.4% growth in first-quarter sales last week.


Sales for fiscal 2004 are now forecast to be between US$1.495bn to $1.510bn, with income from continuing operations of 3.9% to 4.0% of sales, or $1.28 to $1.32 per share. Previously, the company expected sales of $1.475bn to $1.5bn and income of 3.75% to 4.0% of sales


Flowers Foods produces and markets packaged bakery foods for retail and foodservice customers. The company operates 33 bakeries and its brands include Nature’s Own, Cobblestone Mill, BlueBird, Mrs. Freshley’s, and European Bakers.
