Food.com, the Internet’s food and dining destination, is sponsoring the Star Chefs and Vintners Celebration on June 11 to honor 30 years of Meals on Wheels of San Francisco’s service to the Bay Area community.

Meals on Wheels of San Francisco, Inc. is a non-profit agency, which provides two nutritionally balanced meals a day to 1,500 homebound San Francisco seniors. In addition to meal service, Meals on Wheels, S.F. offers nutrition counseling, social work services, and volunteer services for the elderly and the disabled.

This year, the Star Chefs and Vintners Celebration will take place on Steuart Street’s Restaurant Row with restaurant Boulevard, Chaya Brasserie, One Market, Red Herring, and Shanghai 1930 closing their doors to the public to host a gourmet dinner. At each restaurant, two guest celebrity chefs will accompany the host chef to prepare a special course paired with a wine. Host chefs are Nancy Oakes of Boulevard, Shigefumi Tachibe of Chaya Brasserie, Bradley Ogden and Rabah Abusbaitan of One Market, Bruce Hill of Red Herring, and Jason Xu of Shanghai 1930. Bay Area chefs Jan Birnbaum and Joyce Goldstein are orchestrating the event.

Celebration will include a live auction and live music performed by the Backburner Blues, the celebrity chef band.
