Food.com, the leading online source for food and dining information and services, today announced it has signed on with OracleMobile, a division of Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq:ORCL) focused on the wireless Internet industry, to develop and host Food.com’s wireless Web service. The agreement will allow Food.com to extend its service and content to all existing and emerging wireless devices, enabling mobile users to order food through Food.com anytime and anywhere. In addition, OracleMobile will provide access to Food.com through its public wireless portal at http://www.oraclemobile.com.

Food.com Anytime and Anywhere

Food.com aims to make its services accessible through any Internet-enabled device from personal computers to handhelds, mobile phones or televisions. As the strategy takes shape, Food.com is teaming with OracleMobile to build and host Food.com’s wireless service, designed for any mobile device on any carrier network. By visiting Food.com’s wireless site, users will be able to search for restaurants in their area and order a prepared restaurant meal. The personalized “My Food.com” service will also allow mobile users to select from their individual lists of past orders, usual orders, and favorite restaurants.

“With OracleMobile’s wireless service creation and hosting offering, Food.com is able to retain control of their content and focus on their core business,” said Denise Lahey, CEO of OracleMobile. “Food.com’s service is a natural candidate to be extended to the wireless world, and its customers will benefit from being able to search restaurants and order their favorite meals on the go.”

“Food.com is committed to bringing our premier food and dining content and services to our customers in a secure and reliable fashion, on any web-enabled device,” said Richard Frank, chief executive officer at Food.com. “When we looked at different technology solutions, OracleMobile stood out as the trusted wireless technology leader to build and host our wireless site.”
