Scripps Networks has signed its first program licensing agreement in the Republic of Korea, with over 100 hours of Food Network programming to air on Music Network’s Channel F. The service, which launched on June 1st, reaches approximately 1.25 million cable subscribers.

Food Network content airs in branded program blocks each day, with a wide range of programs chosen to fit Korean viewers’ interest in a variety of food related categories, such as food preparation, home entertainment and dining. Programs airing include: East Meets West with Ming Tsai, Extreme Cuisine, The Best Of, Good Eats, and Ultimate Kitchens.

“Viewers around the world are finding information and inspiration in Food Network programming,” said Kristen Jordan, vice president of international development for Scripps Networks. “We are delighted to be associated with Channel F in extending the Food Network brand into Korea.”

The Food Network programming helps Channel F provide our viewers with new and practical ideas to spice up their lives.”

Music Network, Inc., which owns and operates Channel F, is an affiliate of Cheil Jedang Corporation, Korea’s largest food and entertainment company. Music Network, Inc., also owns and operates M-net, a 24 hour music cable television channel.
