US grocery retailer Fresh Brands has announced the promotion of Louis Stinebaugh to president and chief operating officer.

Stinebaugh, who joined the company in December, has also been appointed to the board of directors. Prior to joining Fresh Brands, Stinebaugh worked for the Sentry operation of Fleming Companies and SuperValu in Wisconsin, including most recently as the president of the Sentry operations.
The company also announced the appointment of Thomas Stemlar as a new independent director, and the retirement of Mike Houser, the company’s executive vice president, chief marketing officer and vice chairman of the board. Houser had been with the company for more than 25 years.
