US cereal maker General Mills has back its fiscal 2004 earnings forecast of US$2.85 to $2.90 per share, with sales growth forecast at 6% over the previous year.

The company said results for the year to 30 May would include 10-15 cents per share in charges for restructuring and items related to its acquisition of Pillsbury, reported Dow Jones News.
General Mills also said that it expects to post annual earnings-per-share growth of at least 11% on average, and sales growth of around 5% through to fiscal 2006.
