Global Food Exchange, the Atlanta e-marketplace facilitating services for the foodservice and catering industry, has been purchased by Instill, a compatriot provider of supply chain software and services, for an undisclosed sum.
Line56.com reported Dan Beltramo, senior director of marketing at Instill, as saying the main draw of the deal for Instill was Global Food Exchange’s proprietary procurement, data analysis and control management tool.
Instill said it currently tracks US$8bn worth of transactions for four of the top 20 food service companies, notably Tricon subsidiaries KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut, and Applebee’s.
Global Food Exchange is unlikely to be Instill’s last acquisition. Beltramo told Line56.com: We’re constantly evaluating other potential partners in foodservice. This vertical market is consolidating rapidly.”
