US coffee company Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has said it plans to build a 52,000-sq ft warehouse and distribution facility in Vermont.

The company is also considering a plan to build further distribution centres in other parts of the US, reported the Associated Press.

The Waterbury, Vermont-based company employs 400 people and roasts around 15 million pounds of coffee beans each year.

“Even in difficult times coffee is one of the few affordable luxuries people are reluctant to let go of. It’s a part of their day,” spokesman Rick Peyser said. “There’s a tremendous market for our coffees.”
