The New York Hard Rock Cafe has converted its mezzanine area into an emergency kitchen and is accepting food and beverage donations to help feed the rescue workers at the recovery operation of the World Trade Center towers disaster. Individuals wishing to assist the relief efforts are asked to drop off cooked deli meats, bread, Gatorade, bottled water and non-perishable food items to the New York Hard Rock Cafe, located at 221 West 57th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenue. Volunteers are also needed to help man the emergency efforts.

The Salvation Army is appealing to the public to help support emergency efforts through the donations of new socks, work pants and T-shirts. In addition, Hard Rock Cafe International is donating more than 60,000 T-shirts to help emergency workers. The Boston Hard Rock Cafe is also currently accepting clothing, socks, and work pants.

Hard Rock Cafe New York has been working diligently over the last two days to supply thousands of sandwiches to feed the police, firefighters and rescue workers at the scene of the terrorist attack that destroyed the World Trade Center. The New York Hard Rock Cafe expects to supply more than 24,000 sandwiches to the scene over the next three days and is working in partnership with the Salvation Army’s emergency operations in Manhattan to supply food and beverages to thirteen canteens (mobile feeding units) in lower Manhattan set up to feed those individuals sifting the piles of rubble for survivors.
