SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced yesterday that Harry C. Cotros has been appointed executive vice president of Sysco Food Services of Houston, LP, a SYSCO subsidiary. Currently Mr. Cotros is senior vice president of sales at that company. He will assume his new responsibilities July 1, 2001, the beginning of SYSCO’s fiscal year 2002.
Richard J. Schnieders, president and chief operating officer of SYSCO, said Mr. Cotros, 32, began his SYSCO career in 1991 as a marketing associate at Hardin’s-Sysco Food Services, located in Memphis, Tenn., before transferring to SYSCO’s Orlando, Fla., operation as district sales manager in 1994. In 1996 he joined SYSCO’s West Coast Florida company in the same position and in 1998 progressed to regional vice president of sales for that company. Mr. Cotros was promoted to vice president of territory sales at SYSCO’s Houston subsidiary in 1999 and last year was appointed to his current position.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Mr. Cotros is a 1991 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in business. He and his wife, Joelle, have three daughters and reside in Houston.
Sysco Food Services of Houston, LP, provides food and related products to restaurants, healthcare and educational institutions, lodging establishments and other foodservice operations throughout southeastern Texas.
