US sauce and canned food manufacturer Heinz has said that it plans to realign its US business into two business units following the transfer of several underperforming business units to fruit and vegetable processor Del Monte.

The Pittsburgh-based company will set up an away-from-home division, which will concentrate on institutional businesses such as restaurants, and a consumer products division, which will focus on the company’s retail businesses of ketchup, condiments and sauces, as well as frozen meals and snacks.

The company said it is continuing to review all of its products and package sizes in a bid to improve efficiency, reported Reuters.
