US confectioner Hershey Foods has said that it gave its chief executive, Richard Lenny, a bigger bonus in 2002 because the company exceeded some financial performance targets.
Lenny was awarded a bonus of $1.4m in 2002, compared to $900,000 the year before, while his base salary grew to $850,000 from $605,769 in the previous year.
Hershey said it boosted Lenny’s bonus because the company exceeded performance objectives for diluted earnings per share, among other accomplishments, reported Reuters.
