US wholesale baker Interstate Bakeries Corporation has said that based on preliminary results for its fiscal third quarter ended 6 March, it expects to report a net loss for the quarter of approximately 8 to 12 cents per diluted share.
The company expects to report a net sales decline of approximately 2.5% from the prior year. The estimated results for the latest quarter include anticipated restructuring charges of approximately $1.5m, or 2 cents per share, as compared to the prior year’s third-quarter restructuring charges of $5m, or 7 cents per diluted share.
The Kansas City, Missouri-based company is scheduled to release its quarterly results on 15 April.
Interstate Bakeries is the nation’s largest wholesale baker and distributor of fresh baked bread and sweet goods. The company’s brands include Wonder, Hostess, Dolly Madison, Merita and Drake’s.
