Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) today announced that J. Kevin Burgard has been named Vice President, Merchandising Manager, of the ADM North American Soybean Division. Kevin will be responsible for the coordination of soybean procurement and product merchandising.

Kevin joined ADM in 1986 as a merchandiser and has held positions with the Company in merchandising, sales, and plant management. Most recently, he served as General Manager, Starch for the Corn Processing Division.

Kevin, 38, received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business in 1984 and a master’s degree in business administration in 1985, both from Western Illinois University. He is married and has four children.

ADM is engaged in the business of procuring, transporting, processing and marketing agricultural products. It is one of the world’s largest processors of oilseeds, corn, wheat and cocoa, with over 23,000 employees worldwide, 368 processing plants and net sales for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2000 of $18.6 billion.
