Kellogg’s® cereals and the Tom Joyner Foundation are contributing $10,000 today to help deserving students continue their education at Dillard University, a historically Black institution in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dillard is the fifth of ten historically Black colleges and universities selected by the Tom Joyner Foundation to each receive a $10,000 contribution throughout the year as part of a $100,000 commitment by Kellogg. Joyner, an alumnus of Tuskegee University, is host of The Tom Joyner Morning Show — the premiere, nationally syndicated urban radio program. The popular show is heard daily over the ABC Radio Network. Through Joyner’s Foundation, Kellogg will be contributing $10,000 per month for ten consecutive months to Historically Black Colleges and Universities, joining some of his five million listeners to help make education affordable.

“We’re pleased to be able to expand this fantastic program with our $100,000 contribution,” said Jorge Flores, director, ethnic marketing, Kellogg USA. “The next time listeners of the Tom Joyner Morning Show pour a bowl of Kellogg’s cereal, they could be helping students at Dillard and other Historically Black Colleges and Universities continue their education.”

Established in 1998, The Tom Joyner Foundation awards scholarships throughout the school year to financially assist college students in continuing their education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities throughout the United States. One hundred percent of the funds are contributed to deserving students. Tom Joyner Morning Show listeners have contributed more than $1,000,000 to the Foundation since its inception.

Each month, Kellogg will present a $10,000 check to a Historically Black College or University at selected Tom Joyner Sky Shows, a series of live, remote broadcasts of Joyner’s hit radio program. In addition, Tony the Tiger(TM) will be on hand to help serve a complimentary Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes® breakfast to the Sky Show’s live audience.

Kellogg is also the proud sponsor of Thursday Morning Mom, a weekly segment on the Tom Joyner Morning Show featuring letters from listeners explaining why their Mom deserves to be honored. Each week’s winning letter is read on-air. Each Thursday Morning Mom receives a $1,000 check, compliments of Kellogg. Winners also receive Kellogg’s(TM) Gr-r-reat Morning Kit, which is filled with a month’s supply of Kellogg’s cereal and special gifts. Weekly winners also are eligible to win the year-end grand prize, Kellogg’s(TM) Gr-r-reat Bahama Mama Vacation(TM) at the Radisson Cable Beach Resort in Nassau, The Bahamas.
