Hershey Foods Corporation yesterday announced that Kenneth L. Wolfe will retire as Chairman of the Board of Directors on December 31, 2001 and that Richard H. Lenny, President and Chief Executive Officer, has been elected by the Board as
Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2002. The Board noted the leadership transition process begun in April 2001 when Rick Lenny joined Hershey as President and Chief Executive Officer has been a successful one, and this step represents completion of that process.
Lenny had previously served as group vice president of Kraft Foods and president, Nabisco Biscuit and Snacks, one of the largest operating units of Kraft Foods. Prior to the acquisition of Nabisco by Kraft last year, Lenny had been president of Nabisco Biscuit Company and earlier had served as president of Pillsbury North America.
