Northfield, Ill.-based branded food giant Kraft Foods has announced that Louis C. Camilleri has been elected as chairman of its board of directors, effective 1 September.


Camilleri is succeeding Geoffrey C. Bible, who will retire on 31 August having reached mandatory retirement age. 
 
The board also announced the election of members Dinyar S. Devitre and Charles R. Wall, and the retirement of William H. Webb. Devitre is senior VP and CFO of Philip Morris Companies and Wall is senior VP and chief counsel of Philip Morris Cos.


Pursuant to the corporate agreement between Kraft and its principal shareholder, Philip Morris Cos, the latter has the right to designate Kraft’s chairman and two additional directors. Camilleri, Devitre and Wall are the Philip Morris Cos designees.


With today’s announcement, the nine members of the Kraft board are Camilleri, Roger K. Deromedi, Dinyar S. Devitre, W. James Farrell, Betsy D. Holden, John C. Pope, Mary L. Schapiro, Charles R. Wall and Deborah C. Wright.
