Kraft Foods, North America’s largest branded food company, announced on Friday (16 February) the following management appointments:
Mary Kay Haben, 44, has been named Group Vice President, Kraft Foods, and President of the Kraft Cheese, Enhancers & Meals Group. David S. Johnson, 44, has been named Group Vice President, Kraft Foods, and President of the Beverages, Desserts, Post & Food Service Group. Irene B. Rosenfeld, 47, has been named Group Vice President, Kraft Foods, and President, Operations, Technology, Kraft Canada, Mexico & Puerto Rico. All three executives are members of the Kraft Management Committee, and will report to Betsy D. Holden, President & Chief Executive Officer of Kraft Foods North America.
In addition, Lance Friedmann, 45, has been named Executive Vice President, Kraft Foods, and Area Director for Mexico & Puerto Rico. He is a member of the company’s Operating Committee and will report to Rosenfeld.
In a related announcement, Ann M. Fudge, 49, Group Vice President, Kraft Foods, and President of the Beverages, Desserts & Post Group, has decided to resign from the company due to an impending appointment in another industry.
“While the announcement of my new role will be made in the near future, I want to say how grateful I am to Kraft and Philip Morris for the outstanding opportunities I’ve enjoyed over the past 14 years, and I am excited about the new opportunities that lie ahead,” Fudge said.
“As Ann leaves, we wish her the best in her new endeavor and thank her for her many accomplishments,” said Betsy Holden. “Ann has been a significant contributor at Kraft, and we appreciate all she has done for the success of our business.
“One of Kraft’s most important strengths is the talent and depth of our management team. Mary Kay Haben, Dave Johnson, Irene Rosenfeld and Lance Friedmann are four of our most seasoned and capable executives. With the added responsibilities they are assuming, Kraft will benefit even more from their leadership and insight.”
Haben joined Kraft in 1979, and has headed the company’s Pizza Division, Enhancers Division and Kraft Cheese Division. In 2000, she was named Group Vice President, Kraft Foods, and President, Kraft Cheese, Mexico & Puerto Rico.
Johnson joined Kraft in 1986, and has headed the company’s Pizza Division, Beverages Division and Desserts & Snacks Divisions. In 2000, he was named Group Vice President, Kraft Foods, and President of the Meals, Enhancers & Food Service Group.
Rosenfeld joined the company in 1981, and has headed the Beverages Division, the Desserts Division and Kraft Canada. In 2000, she was named Group Vice President, Kraft Foods, and President of Operations, Technology & Kraft Canada.
Friedmann joined Kraft in 1979, and was named Senior Vice President, Marketing Services, in 1999.
