Kraft Foods North America, the nation’s largest branded food company, announced today that it is creating two new divisions from the former New Meals Division based in Glenview, IL — the Meals and the Enhancers Divisions. Mary Beth Stone West, 38, Vice President of Marketing and Consumer Promotion for New Meals, has been named Executive Vice President, Kraft Foods, and General Manager, Meals Division. Mark Pettie, 44, Vice President of Category Sales Management and Strategy, has been appointed Executive Vice President, Kraft Foods, and General Manager, Enhancers Division.
As a result of this new division alignment, M. Carl Johnson, Executive Vice President, Kraft Foods, and President, New Meals, has decided to leave the company to consider other opportunities.
Stone West and Pettie will serve on the company’s Operating Committee and report to David S. Johnson, Group Vice President, Kraft Foods, and President, Meals, Enhancers and Food Services.
“We thank Carl for his leadership and contributions to Kraft’s success over the past nine years, and we wish him well in his new endeavors,” said Betsy D. Holden, President and Chief Executive Officer for Kraft Foods North America. “Our new division alignment will bring Kraft greater strategic focus on these businesses in the future. Mary Beth’s extensive experience in three Kraft Divisions – Maxwell House, Desserts and New Meals – will help her provide strong direction to our Meals businesses. Mark’s broad range of assignments across Kraft, including Vice President of Marketing, Beverages, General Manager of Pollio and Division Controller in Finance will provide key insights as he leads the Enhancers businesses.”
Stone West joined the former General Foods business in 1986 and has had a number of division marketing assignments as well as serving as Vice President, New Business Development, Kraft Foods. She has a B.S. degree in management from Nazareth College and an MBA in marketing from Columbia University.
Pettie joined the former General Foods business in 1981 and has held a wide range of marketing assignments, along with positions in finance and sales. He has a B.S. degree in accounting from SUNY-Binghamton and an MBA in finance from Cornell University.
