US fastfood giant McDonald’s has announced that Marvin Whaley, president of McDonald’s Asia, Middle East and Africa unit, plans to retire at the end of this year after 32 years with the company.


Whaley will be replaced by Tim Fenton, president of the east division of McDonald’s USA. Other management changes include the promotion of Ralph Alvarez, president of McDonald’s USA, to president of McDonald’s North America, with responsibility for McDonald’s USA and McDonald’s Canada.


Jeff Stratton, McDonald’s USA’s chief operations officer, has been appointed executive vice president of the company’s Restaurant Solutions Group, while Don Thompson, executive vice president of the Restaurant Solutions Group, has been appointed executive vice president and chief operations officer, McDonald’s USA.
